I've gotten a lot of questions lately
about how to create a great
headline, so I wanted to review it here for you.
How do you get people's attention?
The headline of your
advertising is in many ways the most important part
of your sales
campaigns. The headline should grab people's interest,
and create
enough curiosity where they read on to your main sales
letter.
Think of your ads as a funnel. The headline gets people's
attention and causes them to pour into the top of
a wide funnel.
As they read your ad, they progress through the funnel,
getting
closer and closer to the exit point - where they click
on "buy it
now".
As a guideline to creating effective
headlines, think about the
following questions:
Question 1 - What does the product
help the customer do, what are
the benefits? (be a power seller on eBay, start a
web design
company, get rid of roof rats, etc.)
Question 2 - How fast can your product
help the customer? (in 7
days, in 24 hours, in one month, etc.)
Question 3 - How many steps are
you providing? (7 secrets, 10
proven formulas, etc.)
Question 4 - What results can be
expected? (Make $1,000 in 10 days,
5,000 visitors to your website in 1 month, eliminate
scorpions in
your house forever(sorry about that one, we live in
Arizona), etc.)
There are several types of headlines
you can create based on this
information. These types of approaches are based on
human
psychology and what appeals to most personality types.
I won't
bore you with all the details here, but I'm sure in
the examples
below, some of the headlines will appeal to you more
than others.
As you start advertising your product, it's a good
idea to try
several variations of headlines and test to see what
gets the best
results. You may even decide at some point to run
several ads at
the same time with different headlines so that you
can best address
different types of people most effectively.
The most common types of headlines
are: Command, Question, Reasons
Why, How To, News, and Testimonial. I will list an
example of
each type so you can see where we are going with this.
Out of the examples above, I will
demonstrate some of the most
effective types of headlines to get you started. For
this example,
I have chosen the four answers listed:
Question 1 - be a power seller on eBay
Question 2 - in one month
Question 3 - 7 secrets
Question 4 - $1,000 a day
Here are examples of the different
types of headlines you can
create from this information :

Think about what type of approach
appeals to you the most, and use
it. There are no wrong answers on the Internet. No
matter what
type of approach you decide, the Internet is so large
and there are
so many people out there looking for information,
there will be
people searching for what you have to offer, and your
headline will
appeal to them. So don't worry about deciding, just
pick an
approach, and try it.

Affiliates! - You need to read this now
If you are familiar with affiliate programs, you know
that this is
one of the hottest ways to get started with an Internet
business
that pours cash into your bank account 24x7, 365 days
a year, even
if you have a low advertising budget.
However, there is a problem that
may be preventing you from
achieving higher commissions.
Let's say you have signed up with
several affiliate programs, and
you are promoting with your advertising efforts on
the Internet.
If you are new to this area, you may not realize that
you are
losing clickhtroughs because of the appearance of
the links you are
promoting!
As an example when people see this:
http://hop.clickbank.net/?easybuy/adventmicr
they immediately think it's an affiliate
link. Most people's
reaction is - why should I let this person make money
off of me;
why not go to the supplier directly?
Did you know you can conceal your
affiliate links and greatly
increase the probability that people will click and
read on?
Below is a simple HTML page you
can create that will help you
increase the clickthrough rate on all your affiliate
advertising.
Even if you don't know HTML, this is very easy to
do - I will show
you in a few simple steps.
a) Create a new HTML file on your
computer with you web editing
software. If you don't have a web editor yet, you
can use
Microsoft's notepad to create a text file. (When you
save the file,
save it as an .html or .htm extension.) In Notepad,
just select
"File", then "new", then "save
as".
b) Copy ([control-c] and paste [control-p]
the following 4 lines
of text into the .html or .htm file :
<html><head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;
url=http://hop.clickbank.
net/?easybuy/adventmicr">
</head></html>
note : substitute your own affiliate
link information for
"http://hop.clickbank.net/?easybuy/adventmicr"
c) Upload or save the file to your
website.
As an example, say you own "http://www.ebayaid.com"
and you named the file
"auctionsources.htm"
Now, all you have to do to point
people to your affiliate link is
use this in your advertising:
http://www.ebayaid.com/auctionsources.htm
Can you see how your ads have much
more appeal, and you have just
increased the chances dramatically that viewers of
your ad will
click on it?
OK, now that we've made it this
far, here is an even more powerful
way to promote your links.
Make a new directory on your website,
and call it something short
and simple. People are much more likely to click on
a link (or type
it in) if it's very short. In this example I have
created a folder
called "as". Once the folder is created,
copy the file you just
created into the "as folder, and rename it "index.htm"
or "index.
html"
Now, all you have to do to point
people to your affiliate link is
use this in your advertising :
http://www.ebayaid.com/as
You have just created a link that
looks very simple and short, and
increased the probability of clickhtroughs even more.
The great
thing about using "index.htm" or "index.html"
in these directories
your create, is that your prospective customers don't
have to see
or type the whole URL address file name, which is
much more
friendly and approachable.
Try this technique, and watch with
delight as you experience
increased traffic and most importantly, larger commissions!
